With smartphones and mobile devices making their way into the hands of increasingly younger children, the YWCA Darien/Norwalk and the Darien Library co-hosted a presentation yesterday called “Understanding Your Tween’s Online World: Apps & Games.”    Darien Library’s Assistant Director for Innovation, Jon Blyberg gave a comprehensive overview on games popular with the 6 -15 age group (covering the ever-addictive Minecraft) .  I spoke about the most popular networking apps: Instagram, Snapchat, Vine and YouTube.  Download the “Apps – Review” chart for a quick comparison.  It was a very engaged audience seeking to better understand the world in which their digital natives live.
